We are so excited to share this VERY special wedding!!! My cousin Shalon (or Lonni as we like to call her) said her “I do” very purposefully looking into the eyes of her groom Eddy! We knew Eddy was the one for her 3 years ago, when he passed the family initiation of looking through hundreds of slides at a family dinner of when my grandparents were little!
I loved the vision these two had for their wedding. It is pretty common to see the daughter of a pastor’s wedding hold a few hundred people on their guest list, but these two wanted their wedding small, intimate and simple. Their wedding wasn’t about sparkles and glam (don’t get us wrong- we love that too), but there was such a realness about their wedding. It was about the two of them and saying their promises to one another in front of family!
Check out some of the highlights….
Eddy’s beautiful daughters- Brianna & Rebecca saw Shalon out as she went toward their dad! THIS was one of our favorite first looks ever!! I’ve seen my cousin in a dress maybe once or twice in the past 20 years and so when Eddy turned around and saw his bride in a gorgeous perfectly fit dress with her hair and make up looking incredible, he couldn’t contain it! It was such a beautiful moment. As soon as she saw him start to get emotional, she tried everything she could to not get emotional herself!
This would be the dock that says “Danger – do not tresspass”! Matt doesn’t like to listen and I don’t know why people always trust him!
Some of us had seen Shalon before the wedding, but that moment that she walked toward the aisle with her dad. It took me and a lot of others by surprise at how emotional that moment was. There weren’t a lot of dry eyes. The whole ceremony was beautiful.
I shared this photo on facebook recently as it is one of our favorites. My Uncle Barry isn’t an emotional guy, but as he walked his baby girl down the aisle and handed her over to Eddy, he put his arms around them and welcomed Eddy to our family. He let them know that Shalon’s mom would have welcomed him as well and had indeed prayed specifically for him ever since she was little!
My cousin-in-law Dairn did a great job with the ceremony!! I love it when the ceremony is perfectly personalized to the couple.
Our little future photographer was our shadow for a bit! She has her daddy’s fun outgoing personality!
The Hart House – Deer Lake Park was the PERFECT venue for Eddy & Shalon’s intimate wedding!! We all ate dinner together by the fire in their beautiful lakeside cottage!
This is what happens when the whole Kennedy family gets involved in sparkler photos!
Lonni & Eddy – we love you guys!!! Thanks for giving us the honor of capturing such an important day!!
