Geoff, being the planner and analytical one, took 6 months to design the perfect ring for Brogan. He waited for the perfect day….the 1st of May in 2015 to pop the question (1/5/15). It made me laugh when I heard this as Matt is
geeky romantic in the same way. He gets giddy if he sees the odometer in our car turn to something like 123456. And for some reason, we almost ALWAYS look at the time when it is 11:11. It is “our thing” and Matt finds me to give me a kiss. With Geoff’s love for numbers it made perfect sense to get married on the 1st of July, 2017 (1/7/17). How romantic (or geeky…you choose)!
There are some weddings where we feel like family and this was definitely one of them (almost to the point where we would seriously take them up on their offer to join them for Sunday family dinner haha!).
We were welcomed on the wedding day with a warm hug from Mrs. Hartley into a house full of excitement as the baby of the family was about to get married to the man of her dreams.
We don’t normally comment a lot on the guys, but they looked fantastic in their blue suits with their polka dot ties!
Marlee from Flowerella Event Florals was both the coordinator of the day and did all of the stunning flowers for the wedding!!! They were gorgeous!!
Geoff waited patiently and nervously under a small bridge at Queen Elizabeth Park for his bride. She walked across the bridge, turned the corner and Geoff was in awe! He couldn’t take his eyes off of her!
It isn’t too often where we get the opportunity to photograph a wedding that my dad (Rob Buzza) is officiating. We love how he invests into getting to know about them and as a result the ceremony is incredibly meaningful and personalized!
As wedding photographers, we are so thankful that we have the opportunity to listen to the personal and heartfelt promises these couples are making to each other. It reminds us of the promises we made to each other 13 years before.
I love how Brogan ended her vows…
“I am your biggest fan, you are my greatest pride, and together there is no limit to what we can accomplish. Without any hesitation, I will be your constant companion, I will always trust you, and I will forever love you.”
I think they were surprised how similar a lot of their vows were to each other for writing them separately.
Geoff finished off his vows with some important promises to Brogan…
“On our wedding day, in front of our friends and family, I give you my heart, I stand here to make a promise to you, a promise I will never break. My love, I promise to be your everything, to support you, to comfort you, to provide for you, to be your partner in life and to walk beside you in this journey” WOW!!
The other amazing thing about this couple is that they moved the UK 1.5 years ago, so they were planning their wedding from a million miles away! I loved hearing her dad’s speech where he was joking about the “joys” of wedding planning and how it would be the wee hours of the night and he’d see his wife down the hall chatting in front of the screen skyping Brogan about wedding plans!
Haley at Ruffled Rose Co is hands down one of our very favorite wedding stylists/decorators!! Quite a few of our recent weddings have been with her and we just adore her team and the amazing job they do!!
Special thanks to Danny at UBC Boathouse for ensuring we didn’t get sprayed with sprinklers while we did sparkler photos on the dock!
Geoff & Brogan’s wedding WAS on Canada Day, so…
HUGE congratulations Geoff & Brogan!!! We CAN’T WAIT to see what other adventures you take now as husband and wife!
