San Juan Islands Engagement Session: Mark & Sheryl

We were sitting down for a drink at Starbucks, talking all about their plans for their wedding in White Rock with their wedding planner Kailey-Michelle, when they brought up their idea for their engagement session. I almost had to hold back my laughter when they asked, “Would you be OK with going to the San Juan Islands to our family’s cabin for the engagement session??”

OF COURSE!!!!

Easiest answer of the day! I LOVE shooting somewhere new, and I especially love photographing people in situations that are important to them. It’s so much more of a life story than a photo session.

We spent a few hours driving around Blakely Island in their awesome Toyota Land Crusier. From the airstrip, to the swimming lake with the cool abandoned cabin, to the lookout point at the very top… it was all breath taking! We then ended off the session back at the cabin with their “Cabin clothes”, and I was so happy to get to see first hand how important this place is to them.

Here are a few of my favorites from the couple’s session…
