WOW!!! We had an amazing time in Michigan a few weeks ago! We would have never imagined how stunning the scenery would be and how hospitable and amazing the people we met would be! A lot of the celebrating happened at John’s family summer home right on the water! This is not just a little cabin, this is a huge beautiful home right on the water! The day before the wedding, was about having fun together on the water! Sea Doos, Party Boats, a catered lunch and AN ICE CREAM TRUCK serving gourmet ice cream sandwiches in the middle of the forest-can’t get much better than that!
They even hired a local artist that has worked with the family in years past to come to each of the events of the weekend and create a watercolor painting of the setting! What a GREAT idea!! Now they have gorgeous artwork to display in their home to remind them of the celebrations.
In the evening, we went to the rehearsal at the cutest white church!! A few months before, John & Vitalija even came back in town to help paint it!
After the rehearsal, John’s step-mom Sarah generously hosted everyone at her home for an amazing dinner! With Vitalija’s lithuanian background, they so perfectly tied in traditional lithuanian food and other neat traditions. Check out the amazing Lithuanian tree cake, known as raguolis or sakotis. It is a treat that appears at every traditional Lithuanian wedding and other important celebrations.
Stay tuned! Their AMAZING wedding day is on the blog later this week!
