Victoria Wedding: Shawn & Amalea

It’s always extra special when you get to photograph a wedding for someone you’ve known since high school! Amalea is also a photographer and has worked at my studio in the past. It was an honor to travel to Vancouver Island to photograph Shawn and Amalea’s wedding at the beautiful The Gardens at Horticulture Centre of the Pacific

A few months ago, I photographed Shawn’s proposal to Amalea up at Grouse Mountain, where Shawn broke out the bag pipes as they stood at the look out point and then he dropped to one knee. Shawn is an accomplished bag piper, so he dawned the kilt again at the wedding and played a beautiful medley after the ceremony. With sweat pouring down his face, you could see the love he had for Amalea in his eyes. It gave me chills!
