It’s always such a cool thing to get to photograph people I know personally, and this is an especially cool situation! Brett was one of my first students as a High school teacher, and he was an incredibly driven and successful teenager who has now gone on to become an incredibly driven and successful young man! I taught him in my guitar building class (I know, how cool is it that I got to teach fun stuff with no homework to mark!?!) and he created an awesome guitar. He was also really into track and field, specifically long-distance running. He went on to college to run for the SFU track team while Brittany went to the rival UBC track team! They have both had this running thing in common for years and are wildly successful with it! I once ran a half marathon….that’s something right??
They’ve been together for YEARS, and Brett finally popped the question, which Brittany didn’t hesitate in answering…YES! Now it’s time for their engagement session, and what better place to do it than at the place where Brett is the long-standing record holder for the bike race around the seawall?! It’s also the place where Brittany has spent some time working with the Vancouver Aquarium. We had a great time at Stanley Park in the rain and in the sun! What a day!
Here are a few of my favorites from our session!
We were all wrapped up with the shoot, and then I noticed that we were probably only 10 minutes away from an awesome sunset, so we stuck around and MAN were we glad that we did! What a beautiful city we live in!
